Arden Dee Walgamuth, DDS

SYRACUSE - Arden Dee Walgamuth, DDS, 72, of Leesburg, died at 2:08 p.m. March 3, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Kosciusko County, to Fred and Blanche Walgamuth. He married Sandra Van Lue, who died in April 1987. On June 17, 1989, he married Shirley Abell, who survives.

Moving to this area from Akron in 1964, he practiced dentistry in North Webster for 45 years. He was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church, the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association and Wawasee Camp of the Gideons and a life member of North Webster Lions Club. He was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Business and School of Dentistry. He was a friend of Bill W. for more than 27 years. He was an avid fisherman, a seasoned equestrian and enjoyed gardening. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Also surviving are three daughters: Kristin (and spouse David) Prior, Shelburne, Vt.; Dr. Mary (and spouse Gary) Baker, Leesburg; and Tracy Martinsen (and spouse Craig) Williams, Fort Wayne; a son, Mark (and spouse Kathy) Walgamuth, Downers Grover, Ill.; six grandchildren: Tara Fuller, Caitlin, Erin and John Walgamuth, Lynden Prior and Madeline Williams; three great-grandchildren, KyLynn, Gabreil and Jasmine Fuller; and a nephew, Dwight Walgamuth, Pound, Minn. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Orlow, Charles and Terry Walgamuth, and a sister, Joyce Hahn.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Chapel, Syracuse, with the Rev. David Smitley officiating. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery, Clunette.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
