Another Mini-Mart Hit By Armed Robber

Posted

Police are investigating another armed robbery of a convenience store.

Officials said it is possible that an early Saturday incident was committed by the same person responsible for two other armed robberies in 10 days.

In the most recent crime, police said a man entered the Shell station at U.S. 30 and CR 250E at 12:15 a.m. Saturday and demanded money. The suspect in the robbery received an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the scene southbound on CR 250E in a white Pontiac. The vehicle was later recovered and was determined stolen from Grace Village. Police recovered evidence from the vehicle, but declined to comment on what the items were.

Armed robberies also occurred June 14 at Katie's Kwikmart in Leesburg and June 15 at the Pride C Store near Syracuse.

In all three robberies, the suspect was wearing a black pantyhose mask.

In Saturday's robbery, the suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.

In the two previous robberies, the suspect entered the stores shortly before closing time. The Shell station that was robbed Saturday is open 24 hours. Several people - employees and customers - reportedly were at the business at the time the man entered the store.

Anyone with information on any of these robberies is asked to call the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 267-5667 or Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP.
