PIERCETON - An anonymous tip led to the discovery of a methamphetamine lab and the arrest of two Kosciusko County residents.
Early Saturday morning, Kosciusko County Deputy Brandon Hepler and Sgt. Don Wiesehan went to Pierceton to investigate the call and found an active meth lab in a shed at 6290 E. CR 400S.
As the officers approached the shed, two men allegedly left the shed and tried to run away, but were caught immediately.
Dennis Ray Deaton Jr., 37, of 412 S. First St., Pierceton, and Steven Dewayne Mullins, 36, of 2930 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, were both arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for manufacturing methamphetamine. Each man is being held without bond.
Wiesehan and Hepler returned to the shed with members of the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, where they found the active meth lab as well as a loaded .45 caliber Ruger handgun.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called to the scene to take the lab apart and clean up the remnants.
