Annual Dance Concert Sunday

Posted
Class Act Dance Troupe will present their annual dance concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lakeview Middle School auditorium.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 574-267-7055.

The performance will include pieces choreographed by Chicago-based choreographers Jeremy Plummer and Shani Barnett, along with performances by Dance Etc. from Debra Collier's School of Dance and vocalists and musicians from Provident Studios.

The troupe's concert kicks off the celebration of National Dance Week, April 26 through May 2. National Dance Week is held annually to raise public awareness to the benefits of dance. The students of Debra Collier's School of Dance will host Bring-A-Friend Week in honor of the event.

The studio provides various opportunities for students to develop their interest in dance, including the upcoming summer workshops with guest instructors Plummer and Judy Rice. In addition to a six-week summer session, theme camps featuring Pretty Princess, Sleeping Beauty, Barbie® and Tinkerbell will delight young dancers, while ages 8 and up can learn a variety of styles at Camp So You Think You Can DANCE®.

Boys' Athletic Boot Camp, designed to improve agility and coordination fundamentals, is offered for boys ages 5 to 12 and includes our challenging obstacle course.

Young performers can enjoy Drama Camp for ages 6 to 10 and Acting Is Believing! for ages 9 to 15.

CADT, a non-profit performing company, provides students with additional opportunities to use their dance training and develop their abilities through the creative outlets of performance events and community involvement. The award-winning troupe competes on the local, regional and national levels and has performed for such events as Six Flags Great America's DanceFest, Walt Disney World's Magic Music Days, for the WNBA Indiana Fever and the Pacers and the Legacy program in New York City. For more information regarding the troupe or to schedule a performance, contact Tammy Seibold at the number listed above or visit the Web site at collierdance.com
