MILFORD - The eighth annual Camp Mack Festival will be Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. at Camp Alexander Mack on Lake Waubee.
Everyone is invited to enjoy rides, a variety of foods, demonstrations, displays, entertainment and a silent auction. The main benefit auction begins at 2 p.m. All donations during the day, for food, entertainment and the auctions, provide camp scholarships.
Children will enjoy the variety of hands-on projects, and they will be able to make some Christmas gifts for their family. The Children's Activities Center is in Sarah Major Lodge and will feature games, craft items, food projects, face painting and more.
Demonstrations and displays will include wood turning, pressed flowers, needlepoint, corn grinding, pottery turning and apple butter making.
Entertainment includes guitarists, praise teams, dulcimer players, square dancing, hand bell players, pianists, folk music and more.
Rides include horse-drawn carriage rides, hayrides, train and pontoon rides.
Watch for the magician as he wanders through the crowd in the morning and then be sure to catch the magic show at 1 p.m. in Becker Lodge.
Munch your way around a variety of foods. Come early for cinnamon rolls, waffles and homemade donuts. Stay for many lunch items, including beef stew, chili boats, fudge, vegetable soup, homemade potato chips, ham and beans, sandwiches, pies and fudge, all available around 10 a.m.
The Silent Auction is in Quinter-Miller Auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Main Benefit Auction is in Becker Lodge. Items include a handmade Oak Bench Love Seat, a handmade hall tree with bench seat storage and mirror, bicycles, comforters, wall hangings, antiques, baskets of goodies, quilts, antiques and more.
Visa and Mastercard will be accepted at the auction for purchases more than $25 and childcare will be provided for children attending kindergarten through sixth grade at no charge.
