Annette “June” Sumpter, 84, died at 7 a.m. June 12, 2011, in Grace Village Health Care. She was born March 21, 1927, in Warsaw, to James Edwin and Bernice Nora Neer Aitken. On Nov. 4, 1978, in Warsaw, she married Charles “Tom” Sumpter, who died May 12, 2009. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, she was a legal secretary for Max Reed for 25 years. She loved to go camping and traveling all over the United States. Surviving are a son, Larry Sumpter, Roanoke, Va.; a stepson, Patrick (and spouse Ruth) Heath, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Sandra (and spouse Marvin) Wannemacher, Dayton, Ohio; a brother, William (and spouse Pat) Aitken, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Sue Hoffer, who died March 11, 2006, and a sister, Mary Jane Ring, who died Aug. 3, 2006. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with officiating by Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Community Church, Atwood.
