GOSHEN - Anna Mae Vest, 82, died Jan. 25, 2011, in her residence.

She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Dudley, Ill., to Clara Katherine Planson. In September 1953, she married James C. Vest, who died May 15, 1982.

She had lived most of her life in North Webster and Goshen area. Well-known for her cooking, especially bread, she worked for several area restaurants. She had also worked for Chase Bag Factory for 20 years, running a spinning machine.

Surviving are four daughters, Janie (and spouse Kevin) Wilson, Statesville, N.C.; Barbara (and spouse Buddy) Berry, Elkhart; Hazel (and spouse James) Asher, Weiner, Ark.; and Brenda (and spouse Robert) Rogers, Mountain View, Ark.; four sons: Joseph Secrest, New Jersey; Peewee Robert Secrest, North Webster; Charles Vest, Goshen; and James (and spouse Cathy) Vest, Harrisburg, Ark.; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Wilma (and spouse Lamar) Branson, Wanda Taylor and Shirley Allberry, all of Goshen. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Tucker and Rachel Vest; a son, Floyd Vest; and a granddaughter, Christy Lynn Vandiver.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, officiated by Pastor James Shrock of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
