Anna Grace Young, 97, of Chapman Lake, died at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 23, 2009, in her residence.

She was born June 13, 1912, in Huntington County, to Nathan and Carrie Ellis Minton. On Sept. 4, 1934, in Auburn, she married Stanford Young, who died July 5, 1992.

She moved to Chapman Lake from Dowagiac, Mich., in 1997, and to Dowagiac from Huntington in 1944. She was a homemaker and a member of Salamonie Church of the Brethren, Huntington.

Surviving are a niece, Mercedes (and spouse Gaylord) Williams, Warsaw; great-nieces and -nephews: K.L. Clark, Noblesville; Jeff Williams and Peggy (and spouse Terry) Henry, all of Warsaw; Joy and Brian Conrad, Columbia City; and Jan (and spouse Dail) Barber, Akron; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rebman, Fort Wayne, and Joan Norris, Kirkwood, Mo. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lee Young, who died in 1948; two sisters, Blanche Dannecker and Vera Heitz; and four brothers, Clark Minton, Russell Minton, John Minton and George Minton.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington, officiated by Pastor Doug Sharrard of Lancaster Wesleyan Church
