MENTONE – Anita F. Young, 84, of 129 Smith St., Pittsboro, died at 2:20 a.m. May 28, 2011, in Brownsburg Meadows Nursing Home. She was born April 9, 1927, in South Kingstown, Wakefield Village, R.I., to Ziba and Marian Phillips Young. She lived in Pittsboro for 6-1/2 years and prior to that she resided in Georgia. She was an office machine operator in South Kingstown at Rhode Island University for 35 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Narragansett, South Kingstown, and a graduate of Providence Bible Institute, Providence, R.I. Surviving are a twin sister, Shirley (and spouse the Rev. Norman) McVey, Pittsboro, and formerly of Mentone; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Williams, Georgia, and a brother, the Rev. Edwin O. Young, Dixon Mills, Ala. Graveside services will be at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at Mentone Cemetery, with the Rev. Norman E. McVey officiating.
