Angela Lynn BrooksAngela Lynn Ray Brooks, age 52, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, following an illness. Angela was a resident of Newman Grove, Neb., where she lived with her husband, Mark Brooks.
Angela is survived by her devoted husband, Mark; her mother, Glenda (Freed, Ray) Elliott, of North Manchester; her father, Richard Ray (Dollie), of Louisville, Ky.; her brother Mick Ray (Tina), of Claypool; sisters: Susan (Ray) Chandler (John), of Fort Wayne; Jackie (Ray) Allison (Scott), of Westfield; Julie (Ray) Dunlap, of Westfield; Laura (Ray) Travis, of Westfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Karl and Esther Ray, of South Whitley; and Glen and Fae Freed, of Sidney.
Angela was born in Indianapolis on Feb. 15, 1970, but moved to Sidney as a child. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1989. She married Mark Brooks, of Wolf Lake, on July 4, 2004, and they moved to Nebraska a few years later. They enjoyed classic cars and traveling together. Angela was a fan of music, TV and movies. Always a dog lover, her chihuahua, Buddy, was her constant companion. Angela was a friend to everyone she met and always enjoyed chatting and socializing with her friends and family.
Angela was born with Spina Bifida and endured many health issues throughout her life, but she was always upbeat, strong willed and determined to enjoy her life to the fullest. She will be missed greatly by those lucky enough to have known her.
A casual celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, 2507 E. Ind. 14, Silver Lake.
