Andrew M. ‘Andy’ MillerSYRACUSE – Andrew M. "Andy" Miller, 64, of Elkhart, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw.
He was born on May 24, 1957, in Orange, Texas, to Gerald Melvin and Virginia Louise Bruner Miller Jr.
He graduated in 1976 from W.W. Samuel High School in Dallas, Texas, and attended Eastfield Junior College. He was married on Dec. 22, 1987, in Dallas, Texas, to Peggy A. Clay Briggs, who preceded him on April 6, 2019. He was formerly employed as a border patrol officer, security enforcement officer, military security officer, all in Texas; Millennium Industries in Syracuse and Par Mar Security in Goshen. He grew up in Texas and moved to the Syracuse area in 1992 from Dallas.
He formerly attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse.
He is survived by daughter, Amanda (Ricky) Rollins, of Warsaw; son, Louis Miller, of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepdaughter, Misty Briggs, of Elkhart; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers: Gerald Miller, of Texas; and John Miller, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 in the funeral home with Pastor Stan Owen officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
