A group of golfers, including Biomet President and CEO Dane Miller, of Winona Lake, (center), takes off at the start of the annual Cancer Care golf outing at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club Monday afternoon. Two 18-hole outings were planned - one at 8 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. - to raise funds for the local Cancer Care organization. The afternoon session was rain-shortened to six holes. Last year's event netted $82,000, half of which was donated to the American Cancer Society. The other half was used to help cancer patients in Kosciusko County with expenses not covered by insurance, including mortgage payments, rent, cosmetics, clothes, food and transportation. A gala dinner and dance conducted Saturday night at Tippy Country Club also were part of the fund-raiser. Photos by Al Disbro
