Allen Lee Tusing, 81, of Florissant, Mo., and formerly of Milford, Ind., passed away on June 16, 2026, in Florissant, Mo., surrounded by his family.
He was born in Warsaw, on July 16, 1944, to Jacob Jr. and Alice Grubb Tusing of Milford. Allen was married in Warsaw, Indiana, on Aug. 27, 1967, to Karen Kay Wood, who survives. They had three children. Allen was a member of The Christian Church of Milford in Milford and then a member of Church of the Shepard United Methodist Church in St. Peters, Mo.
Allen graduated from Milford High School in 1962 and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran, serving in Headquarters Company of the 19th Engineer Battalion. While in the service he was named Battalion Soldier of the month twice and was the recipient of two commander's commendations.
He started his career at Miles Laboratories in Elkhart and then later moved his family to the St. Louis, Mo., area to work for Mallinckrodt Inc., later working for Transportation Data Services, Pullman Inc. and retired from Cass Information Systems. Allen also had his own transportation auditing and consulting company, Delta Services.
Allen loved being around and supporting his family at their athletic and academic events. He enjoyed fishing, stock car racing and special memories of helping both his sons build race cars. He was always proud of each and every member of his family and their accomplishments. Karen was always by his side and supported him all the time. Allen enjoyed being a member of the American Legion Post 1000 in Jefferson City, Mo.
Surviving is his wife, Karen Tusing, of Florissant, Mo.; two sons, Troy (Molly) Tusing, of St. Ann, Mo.; and Jason (Katie) Tusing, of St. Peters, Mo. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren that he and Karen raised, grandson, Kody Tusing; and granddaughter, Kayla (Ryden) Tusing Grames, of Florissant, Mo.; granddaughter, Hannah Tusing, of St. Peters, Mo.; and great-grandson, Cayden Tusing, of Florissant, Mo.; as well as his brother, Bob (Kay) Tusing, of Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann DeLong, of Bourbon.
Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 at Redpath-Fruth-Byers Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Allen’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Brian Smith. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. 1126, both of Warsaw, and active-duty members of the Army Honor Guard.
