Allen Keith Hayes, 78, Leesburg, passed away at 1:13 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Muncie, to Robert Lewis and Vera Smith Hayes.

He graduated in 1957 from Burris Laboratory School in Muncie, attended Anderson College in Anderson and received his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in Muncie.

He was married on July 15, 1960, in Muncie, to Norma Jean Reeves, who preceded him in 2012.

He moved to the Leesburg area in 1979 from Muncie. He was employed at Chevrolet in Muncie for 20 years, owned Stanley Steamer in Kosciusko County for 12 years and retired from the United States Postal Service in Leesburg after 14 years.

He was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge F&AM in Milford and the Mizpah Shrine in Warsaw. He was a former member of Leesburg Lions Club, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Lake Tippecanoe Sailing Club and Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association.

He is survived by two sons, John Kevin (Melanie) Hayes, Celeste, Texas, and James (Susan) Hayes, Leesburg; four grandchildren: Cheyenne Nikkita (Harrison) Sparks, Harrison Parker (Pearl) Hayes, Indiana Walker Hayes and Keaton Kencaid Hayes, all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Owen Sparks and Evelyn Roxanne Sparks, both of Texas; stepgranddaughter, Carmen Smith, Texas; great-stepgranddaughters, Olivia Rosalyn Smith and Savannah Grace Smith, both of Texas; and a brother, Gayle (Laverne) Hayes, Palatine, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Carol Clark.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
