NAPPANEE – Alice Mae Beachy, 89, of 9473 W. CR 1050N, Nappanee, died at 12:32 p.m. Oct. 18, 2011, in her residence, following a stroke.

She was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Topeka, to Atlee N. and Anna Glick Miller. On Feb. 3, 1944, in Topeka, she married Elmer M. Beachy, who died Feb. 8, 2009.

She moved to Nappanee from LaGrange in 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Rosanna (and spouse John Henry) Borkholder, Nappanee, and Loretta (and spouse Noah) Herschberger and Rachel (and spouse Edward) Otto, all of Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel A. (and spouse Ida) Miller, Topeka; and a sister, Rosa (and spouse Ervin) Miller, Topeka. She also was preceded in death by a daughter and six brothers.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Ray Kemp residence, 9699 W. CR 1050N, with Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.

Calling is after 2 p.m. today and all day Thursday at the Lyle Borkholder's residence, 9457 W. CR 1050N.
