Alice Jeanette Bennett, 89, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Jan. 13, 2014, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw. She was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Kosciusko County, to Charles and Hazel James Rose. On Nov. 23, 1944, in Warsaw, she married Leroy Eugene Bennett, who preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2007. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and a 1942 graduate of Etna Green High School. She attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, and was a past member of the Bourbon Chapter of the Eastern Star. Following her husband’s retirement in 1980, she and Leroy traveled throughout the United States and Canada. They wintered in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas with their Airstream trailer. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Terry Bennett, Warsaw; Robert (and spouse Pamela) Bennett, Augusta, Ga.; Kim Bennett, Nappanee; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Rose, Etna Green. She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher. Burial is in Etna Green Cemetery.
