SYRACUSE – Alice Harriett Gregorowicz, 93, Syracuse, passed away at 6:08 a.m. Jan. 20, 2015, at her home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1921 in East Chicago, to Joseph and Lola Lutkus. On May 9, 1970, in Chicago, Ill., she married Ben L. Gregorowicz, who preceded her in death May 6, 2004.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, received her bachelor’s degree from College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minn., and her master’s degree from Purdue University. She formerly worked at Marshall Field’s Dept. Store and American Dietetic Association, both in Chicago. She moved to the Cromwell and Syracuse area in 1993 from Valparaiso.
She was a member of the St. Martin DePorres Catholic Parish, Syracuse, and formerly attended St. Paul Catholic Church, Valparaiso.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan (and spouse Scott) DeHart, Syracuse; a son, Bernard “Bernie” (and spouse Susan) Gregorowicz, Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Gregorowicz; and granddaughter, Allison “Allee” DeHart.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Martin DePorres Parish, Syracuse, with Father Richard Hire officiating. Entombment services will be at 12:30 p.m. (Central time) at Holy Cross Cemetery, 801 Michigan City Road, Calumet City, Ill.
Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
