MENTONE – Alice A. Engle, 79, rural Claypool, died at 5:07 a.m. Nov. 10, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after an extended illness. She was born April 20, 1935, in Kosciusko County, to Leslie and Mary Decker Hohman. On July 17, 1953, in Burket, she married Roy Engle, who survives in Claypool. She was a homemaker, and she worked as well at Wendy’s, Warsaw. She also loved to volunteer at the Senior Center in Warsaw. She loved being there for all of her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting. Also surviving are two daughters, Joyce (and spouse Bryan) Mendenhall, Claypool, and Kathy (and spouse Arthur) Fields, Mentone; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (and spouse Thurman) Kittrell, Grand Bay, Ala., and Betty Lykins, Ocala, Fla.; and a brother, Dallas Lee Hohman, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Allen Engle, and a brother, William Gross. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with the Rev.
