Alfred E. ‘Pat’ ParkhurstAlfred E. “Pat” Parkhurst, 100, formerly of Rochester and Marshall County, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, in Sebring, Fla.
In Argos, on June 9, 1920, he was born to Arthur E. and Mary Ruth Dennie Parkhurst. Pat married E. Lorraine Pence on Dec. 17, 1940, in Plymouth.
Serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Pat was a member of the European Theater, with the 90th Division, 358th Infantry. He was honorably discharged in 1945. During his service stint, he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries on D-Day 1943 in France.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Alfred “Pat” Parkhurst will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honors Team. Pastor Kurt Nichols will officiate.
