Alcohol Permits Transferred

Posted

Transfers of ownership of alcohol permits and automatic license renewals were the only business before the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission Thursday.

All were approved.

The transfers were for beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales permits for The Hawg House, 717 S. Huntington St., Syracuse.

Carl Flickiner, petitioner, said the principle nature of the business is a restaurant. He and his wife have one other business with an alcohol permit, Hunter's Hideaway in Nappannee, and three restaurants.

Flickiner said the restaurants specialize in home-cooked food.

"They do have a lot of people come in for business," said excise officer Patty Fleck. "At least they did when I was there."

Automatic renewals approved also included:

• Fraternal Order of Eagles, West Center Street, Warsaw, Sunday sales permit.

• Ye Olde Pub, West South Street, North Webster, Sunday sales and beer, wine and liquor retailer permits.

• Maple Leaf Restaurant, North Detroit Street, Warsaw, Sunday sales and beer, wine and liquor retailer permits.

• American Legion Post 258, First and Catholic streets, Pierceton, Sunday sales and beer, wine and liquor retailer permits.

Members of the ABC are Darwin Call, Kenneth Johnson, Gordon Vanator and excise officer Patty Fleck. They meet at 2 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month in the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
