Alcohol Board OKs License Transfer for Oakwood

Posted
Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Board approved a license transfer for the new owners of Oakwood Inn Thursday.
The board approved the transfer to Oakwood Retreat LLC, the Fort Wayne company of Rex Parent and family. The permit will be placed in escrow until state excise officers inspect and approve the facilities at the  Syracuse hotel on Lake Wawasee.
The inn is aiming for a summer opening, according to attorney Kylie Shirey with Barrett & McNagny LLP.
The alcohol board also approved a new three-way license for Little Bighorn Golf Club in Pierceton. The permit, which allows sale of beer, liquor and wine, replaces the club’s beer and wine permit.
A new license application for the Warsaw Meijer store under construction was postponed until next month’s meeting.
The board approved the following permit renewals with no violations:
• American Legion Post 258, Pierceton
• Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Warsaw
• Sleepy Owl Supper Club, Syracuse
• Walgreen #07906, Warsaw
• Walmart #1304, Warsaw
• Wilby’s Gas and Goodies, Syracuse
