Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Board approved and then rescinded a license renewal for Stimmelators Gentlemen’s Club Thursday. The board first approved the alcohol license renewal along with that of The Post in Pierceton, after hearing that neither had any violations. But Sam Stimmel, owner of the North Webster club, later came forward to ask about a violation he’d received. He didn’t have further details when asked by state excise officer April Tackett, such as the month the violation took place or proof that he’d paid the $500 fine. Stimmel did note that the club has only received six violations in the past 27 years, the last being four years ago. Board members agreed when Tackett suggested they take back their earlier renewal and look at it again at the Oct. 3 meeting, with more information in front of them. “Knowing what month this took place would be beneficial,” Tackett remarked. The board also approved a new license for Dollar General in North Webster Thursday, though with some reluctance, with members remarking that alcohol sales in general good stores have cut into liquor store profits. Dollar General sought the license to add a small warm beer and wine section – all beer packaged, rather than single bottles – Jeff McKean, an attorney representing the company, told the board. He added that the company has obtained 140 permits in Indiana in the past two years and has had zero violations. The board also recently renewed licenses for the following businesses: Dollar General Store #7880; CVS/Pharmacy #6499, #6503, #6462; New Market #770; Martin’s Super Market #26; McClure Oil #37; Noble Stores II; Oakwood Inn; SS Lillypad II Dinner Boat; The Frog Tavern.
