Alcohol Bad As Pot

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

This is in response to David Morgan's letter in the Friday Oct. 29th edition of the Times-Union titled "Pot Problems".

Any state that makes alcohol legal better stock up on body bags. How many of you want your child driving around higher than a kite? That is what will happen. It will be in the schools and anywhere kids hang out.

What a sorry excuse for making alcohol legal to begin with. Make money for the state at the expense of our children. How moronic is that? Legalize a substance that impairs your abilities and think you can keep it out of the hands of kids.

If something is legal kids will try it even when they are not of legal age to do so, but most kids will avoid something that is not legal.

You can all say I do not know what I am talking about but when and if alcohol is made legal in your state I unfortunately will be able to say I told you so. It would take two full pages of this paper to explain all the negative reasons against making alcohol legal but I will leave you with a true story.

In 1970, in California, a mother and father fell asleep after drinking alcohol and their child fell from it's crib. They did not hear it's cries and the child suffered brain damage because it was not taken to the hospital in time to relieve the pressure on it's brain.
