NORTH WEBSTER – Alberta L. “Bert” Hardin, 87, of North Webster, died at 6:10 p.m. May 29, 2013, in her residence. She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Cuzco, to Raleigh and Anna Joyce Collins Hilton. On June 20, 1942, in French Lick, she married Ollie Hardin Jr., who died May 7, 1998. She graduated from Cuzco High School in 1942. She moved to the North Webster area from Pendelton 55 years ago and formerly worked at M&M Restaurant, North Webster, where she was in charge of the dessert and salad bar for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the Christian Church, Cuzco, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 253, North Webster, and formerly attended United Methodist Church, North Webster. Surviving are two daughters, Ruth (and spouse Jack) Chestnut, Griffith, and Judith Cullers, North Webster; a son, Steve (and spouse Wahnema) Hardin, Warsaw; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lana Sue Walker, Bedford. She also was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Gravesides services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at North Webster Cemetery, with granddaughter, Elyse Hardin, officiating.
