Albert D. “Ab” Shively, 92, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:18 p.m. Nov. 28, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born July 17, 1920, in Burket, to Ernest R. and Hazel L. Ellis Shively. On March 6, 1947, in Warsaw, he married Phyllis J. Longenecker, who died March 22, 2001. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he graduated from Claypool High School in 1938. He was a machinist at Zimmer Manufacturing. He also worked at Power King and Millington Bros. He also founded Ab’s Radiator Shop, which is now Ab and Tom’s Radiator Shop. He attended First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. He played semi-pro basketball and baseball. He loved sports, especially watching the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame football and Indiana University basketball. He enjoyed meeting his friends at Hardee’s Restaurant every morning for coffee. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Anne Shively, Warsaw; a son, Jeff (and spouse Janet) Shively, Fort Wayne; three sisters, Pauline Lowry, Irene Davis and Jeanette (and spouse Bill) Sadler, all of Warsaw; a brother, Don (and spouse Frances) Shively, Claypool; three granddaughters, Heather Shively, Woodstock, Ga.; Lindsay Rehberg, Canton, Ga.; and Megan Shively, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Jason Shively, Fort Wayne; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Rehberg and Emma Loeding; three great-grandsons, Nathan and Hudson Shively and Landon Rehberg, and another great-grandchild due in April. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merle Shively. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Scott Carmer officiating.
