Alan Wayne Sumpter, 56, of Warsaw, died at 10:05 a.m. May 13, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Dec. 20, 1955, in Warsaw, to Wayne and MaryEtta Biltz Sumpter. On March 23, 1974, in Warsaw, he married Linda Peter, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he was co-owner of Tri-Lakes Container Corp, Pierceton. He was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Also surviving are three children, Jeramy (and spouse Tammy) Sumpter, Newark, Ohio, and Jaime Bozzo and Jason (and spouse Tina) Sumpter, all of Warsaw; his mother, MaryEtta DeSear, Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, David Sumpter, Silver Lake, and Andi (and spouse Ami) Sumpter, San Francisco, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating. Burial will be private in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

No calling is planned.
