AKRON – Akron Parent Support Group’s annual “Spring Fling” will be May 10 at Akron Elementary School. Food concessions are sponsored by the Akron Chamber of Commerce and will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. The menu will include barbecue pulled pork sandwich, hot dogs, nacho chips and cheese, potato chips, cookies, cake and drinks. Prices vary from 50 cents to $3. Carnival games will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are three for $1. Advanced game tickets are 18 punches for $6.. Games will include Plinko, Ooey Gooey Nose Pick, Balloon Balance, Giant Sling Shot Fling-A-Frog, Lucky Keys, Crazy Hair, Flying UFO, Spring Fling, Moon Walk, Pop Ring Toss, Bozo Buckets, Cake Walk, Dig for Gold, Ski Ball, Duck Pond, Potty Toss and Water/Cotton Candy. There will be a live auction at 7:30 p.m. Classroom baskets will include Chocolate Basket, Family Game Night Basket, Mother’s Day Basket, Kitchen Basket, two Pet Baskets and Book Baskets, Handmade Mission Style Sideboard, American Girl Doll, Handmade Barn, Handmade Dollhouse with furniture, two Vera Bradley Bags, Golf Basket, Coffee Basket (Including Keurig Coffee Maker), Tupperware Basket, Baby Gift Basket and many more items. The three first-grade classes and their families also have made individual classroom cookbooks. The raffle is 6 to 8:30 p.m. Items in the raffle include a 32-inch flat screen TV, My Generation Doll, Giant NERF Gun, camera for a bike, Gass Grill, one bike, Holiday World/Splashin’ Safari Tickets, Fort Knox Paintball Passes, four South Bend Silverhawks tickets (fieldbox), four passes for the Shed Aquarium, afghan, food prizes and more.
