The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force picked up an Akron man for dealing cocaine Tuesday afternoon.
Jesus Ortiz, 29, of 208 W. North St., Akron, was arrested and charged with dealing cocaine in an amount more than 3 grams, a Class A felony. At press time there was no bond set for Ortiz.
According to the probable cause affidavit obtained from the Fulton County Clerk’s Office, an undercover officer met Ortiz at his home in Akron on the evening of April 4, 2012, to purchase a half ounce of cocaine.
The officer then purchased 15.3 grams of cocaine from Ortiz for $360. When the officer got back to his vehicle he field tested the white powdery substance and it tested positive for cocaine.
The officer positively identified Ortiz as the man who sold the cocaine. A warrant for Ortiz’s arrest was filed May 25 in Fulton County.
