Akron Carnegie Public Library To Offer Curbside Services

AKRON – The Akron Carnegie Public Library is offering curbside services which include fax and copy services, by appointment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday; and curbside services for books and movies by appointment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Starting May 18, extended curbside hours will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday Mini library visits with limited access to the library and essential computer use is available by appointment only.
Starting June 1, the Akron Public Library will tentatively reopen to the public. Reduced hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.
In order to keep everyone safe and in compliance with the CDC guidelines, the library requests:
• Patrons wear a mask when inside the library.
• Everyone is asked to maintain a 6-foot social distancing range per local/state guidelines.
• Anyone who has been sick or who has a fever should not enter the facility.
• No social gatherings or meetings will be permitted inside of the library during this time period.
• Individuals should not linger more than 30 minutes inside of the library.
• All toys and most seating will be inaccessible during this time.
• Meeting room facilities will be closed through at least July 4 and possibly longer.
• The library reserves the right to limit the number of people inside the building at one time.
• The library reserves the right to limit and/or reject service to any individual who violates safety measures.
The Akron Public Library is also taking these additional measures to ensure the safety of patrons and staff:
• Cleaning and sanitizing will take place frequently inside the facility throughout each day.
• Staff will wash hands often and wear face masks when dealing directly with the public.
•Returned items will be quarantined before being allowed to circulate again.
•Plexiglass shields will be installed at the checkout desk and computer use areas.
Restrictions will be adjusted in accordance with state/local guidelines. The librarys hope to offer regular hours, which will include Saturdays after July 4. Contact the Akron Public Library at 574-893-4113 for questions or more information.
