AKRON - The monthly jam session for musicians who play acoustic stringed instruments will meet at 7 p.m. Friday in the Akron Lions Building, Walnut Street, Akron.
The building is three blocks east and one block north of the stop light in Akron.
In addition to the players, others are encouraged to come sing along, dance, tap your toes or just listen to the live music. There is no cost to attend and refreshments are served.
Artists who are interested in drawing and painting and having conversation with other artists are invited to attend the monthly work session of the Akron Area Arts League.
The meeting is scheduled at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Akron Lions Building. Jon Duane Smith, former art teacher, will discuss what makes a good composition, and you are encouraged to bring the paintings/drawings on which you are currently working.
