Airport Expansion Projects On Hold

The Warsaw Aviation Commission conducted a shorter than usual meeting for their April session.
A proposed relocation of power lines to the east of CR 100E  has been sent to American Electric Power, but no response has been received back yet.
Also, the idea of developing a road loop on CR 100E to accommodate a runway extension is currently on hold.
The engineering firm of NGC from Indianapolis has told the board that a wetlands study will begin after Friday to ensure that the wetland agencies are comfortable with the process.
The board approved an amendment to the land lease agreement for Hangar 4B.  This lease, originally dated October 14, 2003 between the  Aviation Commission and Daniel Ford, was amended to add Ginger I. Ford as a lessee for the remaining term of the lease.
The Corporate Runway Utilization form will be distributed to all pilots by airport manager David Beall.
The board is asking  that the forms be returned before its May 10 meeeting.
In financial matters, NGC Engineering has made an invoice request in the amount of $5,840, of which FAA funds will reimburse $5,548, and INDOT will reimburse $146 with the local share being $146.
One of the reasons for this pay request is because the last one was made in September and activity must be retained within the grant from which the funds are disbursed. This particular request is for the expenses incurred to date as they relate to the power line relocation feasibility study.
The total amount of the remaining FAA funds available for the fiscal year 2011 is $328,453.
While there was even some concern raised that the potential federal government shutdown last week could have also shutdown the FAA, according to Beall, that was not the case.
"The assumption we're working under is that the budget we're working with, will remain," Beall  said.  "FAA funds are under a continuing resolution anyway."
Expenditures for the preceding month totaled $47,539.40 in general operating expenses, and $161.580.50 in fuel cost.
Board members are Jay Rigdon, Paul Grossnickle, Gene Zale, John Yingling and Joe Thallemer serving as a Warsaw City Council representative.
