WEST LAFAYETTE — Warsaw Community High School senior Tim Ahlersmeyer moved up the leaderboard Wednesday, while Triton senior Quentyn Carpenter stayed put. Playing in the PGA Junior Series at Purdue University’s par-72 Kampen Course, Ahlersmeyer shot a 77 Wednesday, moving up from a 21st-place tie to a tie for 11th place going into today’s final round. In second-round action, Ahlersmeyer shot a 77, birdying two holes. He now sits with a two-day score of 157 and is 13 strokes over par. For Carpenter, his second round went much like his first, shooting an 80, leaving him with an overall score of 160, which is tied for 22nd place. The tournament leader is Rhyne Jones of Blowing Rock, N.C., who has a 147 after shooting par the first day and 75 Wednesday.
