Kosciusko Honor & Remember will host a time of remembering and honoring those who have lost their lives or have been affected by Agent Orange as well as chemical and biological exposure.
There will be a time of reflection and prayer from 7 to 8 p.m. at the third American Legion Memorial Circle, Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave., Warsaw, on Monday.
The Vietnam War ended 45 years ago, but the battle continues for many Vietnam veterans. Nearly 3 million service members served in Vietnam and most returned home. But since then, thousands of Vietnam veterans have fought illnesses related to Agent Orange exposure, according to a news release from Honor & Remember. This deadly toxin has impacted the lives of thousands of veterans and their families but is largely unknown to most Americans.
Everyone is asked to take a moment on Monday to remember the suffering Agent Orange has spread since its first use on Aug. 10, 1961.
Other Americans have been affected by biological, chemical and radiological exposure as well. People are welcome to come and lay flowers at the memorial and a member of Kosciusko Honor and Remember will be present to listen and pray.
