Kosciusko County fourth-graders will participate in the third annual Ag Day event, "Discovering Agriculture in Kosciusko County" on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by the Kosciusko County Extension Office, Kosciusko County Farm Bureau and the county Agriculture Awareness Committee, the event will feature students from Warsaw Community Schools from 9:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, and students from Tippecanoe Valley, Pierceton, Milford and Sacred Heart from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The event uses demonstrations and displays to acquaint students with the importance of agriculture in Kosciusko County and in their daily lives, and to expose them to the different livestock and commodities raised in the counties. Individual stations will concentrate on such subjects as beef, dairy, crops, soils and water quality, farm machinery, food nutrition, 4-H and farm safety.

This year, the Ag Day activities will be followed Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. by "A Taste of Agriculture in Kosciusko County: A Family Affair" at the Fairgrounds. The highlight will be the opportunity for the entire family to taste different commodities raised in this county and, through interactive educational activities, for kids and adults to learn about agriculture in Kosciusko County.

The "Taste of Agriculture" is open to the public.
