Ada Prater, 71, of Silver Lake, passed away at 4:05 a.m. April 14, 2012, in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 28, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Jimmie and Lola Miller Owens. On Sept. 1, 1956, she married Curtis Prater, who preceded her in death.
Living most of her life in Silver Lake, she was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Claypool.
Surviving are four daughters: Alicia Crum, Prestonsburg, Ky.; Debbie Shepherd, Violet (and spouse John) Malott, all of Silver Lake; and Jodi Stouder, Syracuse; two sons, Randy Prater and J.T. (and spouse Jodi) Prater, all of Silver Lake; a stepson, Doug Plew, Oswego; two sisters, Elleree (and spouse Butler) Johnson and Jearleane Hyden, all of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters and two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Silver Lake, with Pastor Frank Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
