Posted
Two people were arrested Friday on drug-related charges at a local hotel, according to a Warsaw Police Department press release issued this morning.
On Friday at approximately 12:45 p.m., Warsaw police were called to the Comfort Inn after hotel staff could not get into a room after the occupants should have checked out. Officers arrived and found the safety lock bar on the door engaged but could see a male subject sleeping on the bed. After several attempts, the male was awakened and opened the door. Once inside, officers located an active one-pot methamphetamine lab, precursors to the manufacture of meth, syringes and finished methamphetamine product. A female was also present in the room.
Richard D. Cain, 33, Warsaw, was taken into custody and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a B felony charge of dealing, delivering or manufacturing methamphetamine. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Also taken into custody was 24-year-old Courtney C. Bowling, North Webster. She was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of over 3 grams of methamphetamine. She was also charged with possession of stolen property after the vehicle the pair drove to the hotel was found to have a stolen license plate on it. She is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Warsaw Police were assisted by Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team.
