Officers from the Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County Sheriff's departments are investigating an accidental shooting that occurred Monday night.
Around 10:53 p.m. Monday, police were called to a residence on Canterbury Lane in the Canterbury Apartment Complex for a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered 22-year-old Colton Cretcher with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.
After interviewing witnesses and conducting an investigation, police learned that a .45 caliber handgun accidentally discharged when Cretcher tried to pull it out of a holster.

According to police, alcohol may have been a factor, but the shooting appears to be accidental.
