Editor, Times-Union: Everybody knows that we are living in a throw-away society. If something is broken or no longer useful, we just throw it away, including older people. We put them in nursing homes and forget them. The residents in a nursing home had only to worry about being abused mentally or physically, being sexually mistreated, giving them drugs for them to sleep their lives away, misplacing resident’s property or forgetting to change urine-soaked bed sheets. Today, our Senator Joe Donnelly discovered that the employees of a nursing home have too much time on their hands. Using their cell phones, they have taken pictures of residents in different poses and sending them on the Internet, sometimes violating their privacy, dignity and sometimes the law. Maybe one day, I will be a centerfold for “Playgirl” magazine. Paul Fribley Warsaw
