Down Under, 801 N. Huntington St., Syracuse, has transferred ownership.
And Thursday, the Kosciusko County Alcohol Beverage Commission unanimously approved the transfer of its beer and wine retailer permits to Down Under's new owner, Todd Clouse. A new Sunday sales retailer permit for the business also was approved. With the Sunday sales retailer permit, the business gives up its carry-out privileges.
In other business, no permits up for renewal Thursday had any violations against them, so all were approved, including:
• The Post, North First Street, Pierceton, beer, wine and liquor retailer permit.
• Maxie's Restaurant, East Elkhart County Line Road, Syracuse, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
• Kale Island Beacon Restaurant, North Kings Drive, Syracuse, beer, wine and liquor retailer permit.
• Louie's Bar & Grill, East Bowser Street, Syracuse, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
• Clara's Pizza King, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw, beer and wine and Sunday sales retailer permits.
Members of the ABC present Thursday were excise officer Patty Fleck, Gordon Vanator and Kenneth Johnson. Not present was Darwin Call. The ABC meets at 1 p.m. in the county courthouse on the first Thursday of every month.
