MENTONE – A. Virginia Romine Thomas, 100, formerly of rural Etna Green, died at 5 a.m March 13, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Mishawaka, to Octave and Ida McWilliams Archambeault. On May 3, 1932, in Bluffton, she married Marvin Romine, who preceded her in death July 2, 1976. On Nov. 3, 1981, she then married Ward Thomas, who preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1996. She was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Argos High School. She was a member of the Harrison Center Church of Etna Green where she taught children's Sunday school for five years. She also was a member of the Merry Mollies Home Extension Club for many years and the Widow to Widow Club. She wintered in Sebring, Fla. Surviving are a daughter, June (and spouse Harold) Personet – Gilead, Roann; four sons: David (and spouse Dorene) Romine and James (and spouse Barbara), all of Mentone; Wayne (and spouse Nancy) Romine, Etna Green; Dan (and spouse Diana) Romine, Columbia City; two stepdaughters: Jennine (and spouse Wade) Bentz, Calif.; Darlene (and spouse Jim) Maurer, Leesburg; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Tommy Romine; three sisters, Lillian Chapin, Violet Herrin and Margaret Higginbothum; and four brothers: Russel, Clarence, Melvin and Jack Archambeault. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at King Memorial Home. 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Larry Goss officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Center - Wooden Cemetery, Etna Green.
