A New Coffee Experience In Warsaw

Posted
A New Coffee Experience In WarsawWarsaw's newest coffee shop opened last week.

Latte Art, located on Detroit Street just south of U.S. 30, opened its doors last Friday.

"It's been a long haul, but we are glad to be here serving the Warsaw area," said Jake Stichter, Latte Art's spokesman. "We've been working hard to get ourselves and our building ready for service, and we think people will be pleasantly surprised."

The baristas at Latte Art have been trained at The Coffee Institute, a training school in Muncie.

The baristas pattern their creations after competition-style espresso drinks made by Coffee Institute trainer Chris Deferio.

Latte Art specializes in espresso drinks, but also features real-fruit smoothies, unique teas and old-fashioned hand-mixed sodas.

Brenda Stichter, a barista at Latte Art, said, "With our soda bar we have the ability to create drinks for everyone from the sophisticated palate to the child who wants a fruit-flavored drink. From lavender or lemongrass flavors to strawberry and banana, we have something for everyone."

The Stichter family, proprietors of Latte Art, has been maintaining businesses in the Warsaw area for 40 years, including Warsaw Masonry Supply and Glamour Pools and Spas, both located on Ind. 15 just north of downtown.

Still, they won't hesitate to admit that the coffee shop is a new adventure.

"It's so different from everything we have done. It has been enjoyable learning what goes into a coffee place," said Jake Stichter.

Latte Art is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday with longer hours upcoming.

"We just want to get a feel for operating our equipment and seeing what is popular," said Jake Stichter. "Once we get rolling we plan on extending our hours to more typical coffee shop times."
