ROCHESTER - On Jan. 25 there will be a Frontier Party for a frontier boy who lived in Fulton County in 1833, working for the surveying team for the Michigan Road.Alan Garinger, Selma, Ind., wrote a book about it and titled it "Alone - The Journey of the Boy Sims."
The party to celebrate the publication of this book by the Indiana Historical Society will be held at the Fulton County Museum at 2 p.m.
Refreshments will be foods of that period, such as hoecakes (actually cornbread cookies with cranberries or chocolate chips), coffee soup and grape dumplings.
Garinger will give a talk titled "Three Kinds of History," and will autograph his books. Tim Eizinger, Rochester, will tell about the 1833 survey.
