Bob Vernatter, owner of Midas Auto Service Experts, 3555 Commerce Drive, donated 88 oil changes to Project Independence Program Wednesday.
Project Independence is an agency within Combined Community Services which sets long-term self-sufficiency goals for individuals in Kosciusko County. Family Development Specialist Tammy Vetor said the service mainly contributes to single mothers attending colleges in and around the county.
The oil changes are estimated to last through 2006, and two coupons for the oil changes will be distributed to the project's 44 participants.
Vernatter said he was more than willing to help with the cause, and hoped "CCS stays in the community."
Though this is not the first year Midas has donated services for Project Independence, the contribution is significantly larger than past years.
