A Ligonier boy was killed Sunday when he was ejected from his father's car on Wawasee Drive, four miles east of Syracuse.
Brian Miller, 7, was pronounced dead on arrival at Goshen General Hospital from internal and head injuries after the one-car accident around 9 a.m. Sunday.
Kim J. Miller, 42, Ligonier, was driving the car south on East Wawasee Drive, south of CR 1350N, when he lost control on the ice-covered road. The car crossed the center line, went into a field and rolled over. Miller and his two sons were ejected from the car. None of the three was wearing seatbelts.
Kim Miller was taken to Goshen General Hospital and is listed in fair condition with broken wrists and internal injuries. Dale Miller, 12, was treated at GGH for minor abrasions and released.
The Indiana State Police report gave the opinion that seat belt use would have prevented injuries and fatality.
