Five people were arrested Wednesday after deputies saw a suspicious vehicle at Hoffman Lake.
During a covert surveillance operation by NET 43, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies saw the vehicle at 7877 W. Lovetts Lane.
As officers approached the residence, Robert T. Boatwright, 28, Claypool, who was known to have several arrest warrants, fled into the home.
Multiple officers responded to the area and established a perimeter. A canine unit was requested and upon entering the home, detected the presence of human odor in the area of a built-in basement cabinet. Upon removing the top of the cabinet, Boatwright was discovered to be hiding in an open area inside the cabinet.
Officers obtained a search warrant after observing narcotic paraphernalia in plain view. Narcotic scales, two handguns and methamphetamine were found inside the home.
NET 43 was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Warsaw Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
