5 Local Schools Send Athletes To State Finals

Warsaw senior Greg Seiss is the only local athlete with a No. 1 seed (800-meter run) entering Saturday's track and field state finals, but he's not the only local athlete with a good chance to finish first.

Wawasee junior Rob Chalfant is seeded second in the 3200 run. His time of 9:26.18 trails only West Noble senior John Parson, who edged Chalfant at the Fort Wayne Wayne Regional. Parson's time is 9:25.15.

Others advancing include Triton freshman Matthew Anders in the 400, NorthWood senior Aaron Hoover in the 3200, Manchester's David Bazzoni in the pole vault and Warsaw's 3200 relay team.
