Posted
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department arrested four individuals on two separate residential burglaries Monday.

The first occurred Monday morning when police responded to a 911 call of a suspicious vehicle at 9177 S. CR 600W, Claypool.

KCSD Deputies Rick Shepherd and Billy Fields arrived at the scene and found Kelly Dee Ratliff, 35, of Ind. 13, North Manchester. Ratliff was found with items removed from the residence in his vehicle as he attempted to leave the scene.

Ratliff was charged with burglary and possession of legends and precursors. His bond was set at $5,000.

The second burglary came early Monday afternoon at 1052 W. CR 700N, Leesburg.

Fields stopped a vehicle driven by Benjamin Lawless, 19, Plymouth, in what police believe was an attempted get-away from the burglary.

Lawless was arrested for attempted burglary and possession of marijuana, 30 grams or more. He currently is being held on $5,000 bond.

Officers from other departments set up a perimeter in the area as a helicopter and K-9 units searched for the other two suspects allegedly involved in the Leesburg burglary.

Another suspect, Steven W. Booker, 18, Plymouth, was located in a bean field northwest of the residence by KCSD deputies Rick Oliver and Craig Bale.

Booker was arrested on burglary and resisting/fleeing law enforcement charges. Booker is being held on a $10,000 bond.

A third subject, a 17-year-old male, was taken into custody but his name wasn't released. He was transferred to the Marshal County Sheriff's Department.
