4-H King, Queen Kept Busy At FairFor being named the Kosciusko County Fair 4-H King and queen, Zeke McSherry and Amanda Schroeder won cash and a savings bond.
This week all they could probably use is some coffee.
McSherry and Schroeder go to virtually every 4-H event during this week's fair.
"Sometimes it comes down to divide and conquer," said McSherry."It's been going good," said Schroeder. "We've been busy but its fun."
McSherry said he's keeping a cheat sheet as to what events he's supposed to be attending.
Besides making appearances, both McSherry and Schroeder are showing animals and also were involved in general projects.
McSherry said he thinks 4-H Fair King needs to be more publicized. This year only two guys went for the crown.
"I didn't know about it until my fifth year," said McSherry.
Both he and Schroeder said that to become fair royalty takes a lot of organization.
"You have to keep really good records of everything," said Schroeder.
Schroeder said that besides the $100 and gift cards and coupons they receive she is really enjoying this year's fair.
And for Schroeder it will be her 10th and final year in 4-H.
This fall, she will be heading to West Lafayette to major in elementary education at Purdue.
McSherry is in his ninth year in 4-H and will be a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School.
He plans to go to Purdue after high school and major in engineering.
Both Schroeder and McSherry earned honors in general projects.
