A third man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery Thursday at North Webster.
Michael Alan Cavender, 32, of 7829 N. Syracuse-Webster Road, North Webster, is charged with armed robbery. Police attempted to serve a warrant on Cavender Tuesday night, but were unable to locate him.
David Walter Hawthorne, 24, of 8264 N. Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse, and Ray James Skelton, 32, of 10 EMS D18 Lane, Syracuse, were arrested the night of the robbery after Hawthorne was identified as a suspect by a witness.
Police believe the trio are responsible for robbing an American Legion employee of a bank deposit outside the Legion building. Part of the money was recovered Thursday night.
No weapon was recovered, but a witness said he saw a gun sticking out the back of Hawthorne's pants. The victim of the robbery, Russell Griffin, was reportedly struck from behind by one of the suspects and another took the money from him. Griffin was treated for his injuries at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released.
