Staff Report-
This year the ‘Treasures For Troops’ stocking drive was termed a great success by organizers.
There were 302 stockings donated. Because of the generosity in the community, they are guaranteeing 302 deployed soldiers will hear from home this Christmas season. The stockings were sent to nine different soldier groups currently serving in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan.
The branches of the Armed Forces receiving stockings were Army, Air Force, National Guard and Marines.
A Facebook page will be updated with any pictures the soldiers may send when they receive their stockings.
Soldiers’ comments also will be posted. The Facebook address is: www.facebook.com/treasuresfortroops
Pictured is Susan Manns, Treasures For Troops organizer, with the stockings before they were shipped to the troops.
